When it comes to taking CBD, how you take it (the delivery system) can play a role in how quickly effects are felt, how intensely, and how long they last. One of the best delivery systems available today is softgels.

The delivery system that offers the longest lasting coverage are the oral agents. CBD softgels are preferred by most consumers, and the reasons are enumerated below:

CBD softgels have a smooth contour and shape making them easy to swallow.  Softgels are user-friendly and thus are good for people with poor eyesight or arthritis. Softgels offer a more discreet way of taking medication as it is in pill form.  Softgels are more elegant to carry than a tincture, which can spill, drop or break.

Most edibles have added sugars and artificial additives. Softgels have neither. If your goal is health and wellness, added sugars and artificial additives are precisely what you want to avoid. When taking edibles, it can be a challenge to eat just your decided dosage.   In contrast, since each Softgel offers a set amount of CBD, it is much easier to keep track of your daily serving size.  Whereas edibles have a limited shelf life, softgels are encased with a coating that does not allow light to penetrate them, and so, the shelf life is many months – possibly years.

Softgels are completely safe for those with intestinal problems – in fact they are used to treat intestinal problems!  Softgels are vegan friendly, gluten-free, and without GMO’s – but make sure to buy a reputable brand. Though what I am saying is true when using the correct brands, subpar brands may not provide this optimal level of quality.  Softgels are tasteless and can be taken on a full or empty stomach, taken with water, soda, or even with a dry gulp.

After the softgel is swallowed, the gel coating dissolves in the stomach. Following that, the CBD, already in liquid form, is immediately absorbed. After it is metabolized by the liver, the remainder that is not used is stored in the fat tissue. As a result of the ability of the body to store cannabidiol in fat, after 5-7 days of regular use, the benefits can last 24 hours a day.  This is very important when addressing certain health issues such as inflammation, arthritis, chronic pain, and emotional wellness.

Every CBD user has their own set of issues and requirements. If you necessitate very specific doses, discretion and/or the ability for 24-hour coverage, softgels may be the best delivery system for you.

Take home points:

Softgels are discreet, portable, and when taken regularly, can address issues that require 24/7 coverage.
