THC Sparkling Water Are On The Rise

Written by Ofer Shoshani

(Press Release) Hi-Fi Hops is an IPA-inspired, THC-infused sparkling water. It combines the best of hops and cannabis to create a no-calorie, buzz-inducing, super sparkling beverage that drinks like a beer, is as refreshing as water and creates a nice high thanks to sun-grown cannabis.

Lagunitas Brewing Company, the brewery responsible for the #1 selling IPA in the world and backed by a 25-year history of making dank, funky and creative craft brews, announced the launch of Hi-Fi Hops, an IPA-inspired sparkling water made using everything Lagunitas knows about hops and infused with THC and/or CBD (depending on your vibe).

The new beverage is yet another example of Lagunitas’ creativity at the intersection of culture, marijuana and craft beer, and marks the first time a brewery has successfully and legally been represented in the THC-infused beverage space.  At its core, Hi-Fi Hops drinks like a beer (thought it’s not!), tastes as refreshing as water (because it is water, yeah, no calories or carbs!) and gives you the chill of sun-grown cannabis from AbsoluteXtracts.

“Hi-Fi Hops is not the first chapter in the love affair between cannabis and Lagunitas, but it is one of the most exciting,”
Maria Stipp, CEO of Lagunitas

Hi-Fi Hops, which is expected to hit California dispensary shelves and lips this July, will be available in two dosages, one with 10 mg of THC and one with 5 mg of THC and 5mg of CBD – which our friends at CannaCraft say makes  it a perfect drink for everyone from casual cannabis dabblers to long-time tokers.

“We have come to realize that our passion for hops is a big part of our passion for beer,” said Jeremy Marshall, Lagunitas Brewmaster. “We often dream of hops and their cannabis cousin partying together at their family reunion and wanted to bring this party to life in a drink. We believe it’s high-time good beer inspired a provocative yet refreshing tasting non-alcoholic alternative – bubbly, aromatic, bitter, fruity and herbaceous with no gluten, no carbohydrates and a smidge of California sun-grown cannabis in every sip.”

Lagunitas makes beer, and surprise (!!!), it’s quite frowned upon when breweries try to make other awesome buzz-inducing beverages, especially if they include THC. So the company turned to CannaCraft, a manufacturer of cannabis-based products. With Lagunitas supplying the tasty, IPA- inspired sparkling water, CannaCraft takes on the THC-infusion process, and applies methods to ensure that THC is evenly dispersed throughout the beverage – making every drop of the hop-based H20 consistently and dankly delicious.

Since Lagunitas’ founding, marijuana has helped fuel innovations and creativity for many of its most famous brews. From Censored (aka Kronik), Undercover Investigation Shut-down Ale, Waldos’ and SuperCritical, Lagunitas has not only been central to, but a leader and innovator in the cultural evolution of marijuana adoption, innovation and enjoyment.

Hi-Fi Hops will initially be available at dispensaries throughout California (sorry, rest of the world). While Hi-Fi Hops is an awesome beverage that anyone 21 or over can enjoy, we want to keep it away from kiddos, which is why the beverage will come in child-proof packaging. About Lagunitas Brewing Company:
Lagunitas Brewing Company began on a kitchen stove in Northern California in 1993. From actually getting beers into bottles and onto the streets, Lagunitas looks to the future. From expanding the Petaluma Brewery to building a second in Chicago and soon a third in Azusa, CA to bringing its flagship IPA across the pond Lagunitas could probably make good beer on the Moon. Wherever you go, beer speaks, people mumble. More mumblings at www.lagunitas.com
