Written by Alexandra Hicks

There is a lot of information out there about how to get a job in the medical cannabis industry. If you believe in the future of CBD, you should take a look at our top picks for CBD Jobs below?

If you are looking for a job in the CBD industry, then you’re definitely in luck. There are a lot of legitimate, skilled positions working with cannabidiol that pay a liveable wage. Not so surprising when you consider the fact that the CBD industry alone accounts for over $2 billion worth of total, medical cannabis sales. With the growth potential and lack of stigma that’s commonly associated with traditional cannabis, this particular market is proving to be very promising. Below are some of the most rewarding and well-paying jobs in the cannabidiol niche.

1. Hemp Farmer

When it comes to good quality CBD, it all starts with the plants. Hemp farmers are in high demand at the moment since not many people have the skills and experience necessary to grow hemp that’s good enough for extraction. On average, a hemp farmer earns about $250 per acre, so a 300 acre farm would net around $75,000 per year.

2. CBD Marketing Expert

Like any industry, CBD needs marketing to continue expanding. However, unlike most other businesses, CBD companies have to work through a myriad of advertising restrictions that prevent them from utilizing traditional marketing through sites like Facebook and Google. This is where a skilled, marketing professional can swoop in to save the day. CBD marketing professionals usually earn a starting salary of $35,000 per year, but it’s possible to earn well into the six figures.

3. CBD Extraction Technician

Cannabidiol extraction is a delicate science. The process if very precise and can be extremely dangerous when done incorrectly. Typically, a CBD extraction technician has a Phd or similar degree, and they can expect to earn $75,000 per year or more.

4. Advocacy and Lobbying

A lobbyist is responsible for keeping politicians informed about anything cannabis-related, and advocating for new laws that benefit the industry and its patients. While this isn’t the most glamourous job on the list, it’s extremely important and well-suited for passionate people who want to make a change. Most lobbyists start as unpaid interns, and eventually go on to earn around $25,000 to $35,000 per year.

By all accounts, this upwards trajection in the CBD industry won’t be slowing down any time soon. It’s the perfect time to get in on the ground floor and set yourself up with a rewarding career in an industry that actually helps people.
