The first publicly traded cannabis company in the US, Medical Marijuana, Inc. just announced their registration of products for the CBD market in Paraguay
Their products, according to a recent press release, are Real Scientific Hemp Oil-X™ (RSHO-X™) and RSHO™-Blue Label products. (as registered medicines by Paraguay’s national health regulation organization (Dirección Nacional de Vigilancia Sanitaria).
CEO Dr. Stuart Titus, over at Medical Marijuana Inc., said in the release, “We are a Company of firsts and we are excited about this new historic milestone of being the first company to have a CBD product registered in Paraguay.”
He also spoke about the process his company went through to get to the point they are at today, “We have actively pursued getting our pipeline of botanical cannabis products registered and approved as therapeutic products in countries around the world, which opens the ability for international pharmacies and healthcare providers to distribute cannabis products to patients.”
Dr. Titus also spoke about the ways in which CBD is gaining international acceptance, “This is yet another example of the international trend of acceptance of CBD for therapeutic use, and we are continually encouraged by the decisions of governments and regulators to permit use of cannabis and CBD products for patients suffering from multiple indications – especially where conventional medicine has had modest or limited effects.”
Interestingly, and what makes this a landmark in medical terms, is the fact that this registration makes Paraguay the first country to officially approve CBD products for medical use, delivered in medical form.
The products have already been tested in a range of patients in the country, ranging from those with cancer, pain, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy and various other neurological diseases.
